The Vauban Network had the pleasure of meeting and exchanging with Jeroen van der Werf, Building Engineer, Architectural Historian, and Building Consultant for Monumentenbezit, and Hyunuk Park, Senior Researcher at the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation and member of ICOMOS Korea.
Both experts collaborate with ICOMOS France, notably through advisory and expert missions related to cultural heritage.
Recognized specialists in their respective fields, they shared their valuable insights and contributed to stimulating discussions on key issues related to the management, conservation, and governance of fortified heritage. These rich exchanges once again demonstrated the essential role of international dialogue in better understanding, preserving, and promoting these remarkable witnesses of our shared history.
The connections built between countries, institutions, and heritage professionals are a true source of inspiration and collective enrichment. They encourage the emergence of new projects, strengthen cooperation, and contribute to the development of research and publications that are essential for a deeper understanding of our fortified heritage.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Hyunuk Park's family for their presence and for the enriching conversations shared during this meeting.
